Product Description
The PRIMERGY BX620 S5 provides optimal functions for enterprise environments and offers improved features as regards main memory and processors. Up to ten of the dual-socket server blades can be installed in a PRIMERGY BX600 S3 system unit. The BX620 S5 systems offer an efficient Cool-safe™ design supporting the Intel® Xeon® 5560 processor to minimize power consumption and reduce cooling requirements in data centers. Due to the support of high memory capacities with up to 96GB (12 DIMM slots) with memory bus speeds of up to 1.333 MHz, the BX620 S5 is ideally suited for allmost all applications that require high availability, flexibility, performance and efficiency. Config Notes
- Install: System installed using external USB connected DVD drive; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration.
- PCI Network Pass-Through: System was tested using PCI pass-through where the network adapter was given to the SLES 11 SP3 x86-64 guest. One of the embedded Intel® 82574L Gigabit Ethernet adapters was used in this testing. Interrupt remapping support allowed via echo 1 > /sys/module/kvm/parameters/allow_unsafe_assigned_interrupts
- VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES 11 SP3 drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 drivers are available from http://download.novell.com (VMDP-WIN-2.1.exe), and the virtio network drivers were used during testing.
