Product Description
As the latest set of offerings in our midrange storage line, the Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage system AMS2300 leverage many high-end features, such as active-active controllers with automatic load balancing, cache partitioning, and RAID-6, the AMS2300 is designed for any medium or large business that is generating fast-growing amounts of data and need to meet application requirements for availability and performance in a small footprint. This system can be configured as components of our Services Oriented Storage Solutions by matching application requirements and the value of data to the cost of storage in consolidation or business application platform roles, or enabling cost-effective backup, tape replacement, archiving, and regulatory compliance solutions.

Config Notes

Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Tested as a 2-node scalable partition with 8 Compute Books. Hard disk configuration: two seperate RAID 1 devices. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with and requires the following additional load parameters: dom0_mem=16G dom0_max_vcpus=16 (parameters are required, the specific values can be changed).
Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to "crashkernel=264M,high crashkernel=172M,low" using YaST.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows Server 2016 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.4.exe).
SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to the SLES 12 SP3 FV guest. One of the integrated I350-T4 ML2 GbE adapters was used in this testing.
