This platform provides a comprehensive set of storage and data services including large-scale virtualization of internal and external heterogeneous storage for application-centric storage area management and simplified and unified data replication. As an integral component of Application Optimized Storage solutions, the Universal Storage Platform is the architectural foundation for matching application requirements to different classes of storage. The Universal Storage Platform will enable you to deploy applications within a new framework, fully leverage and add value to current investments, and more closely align IT and business initiatives.

Kdump (SLE11SP4): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=512M-:256M using YaST.
Install: System installed using an external USB DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Disk configuration: HDD two disks configured as RAID 0 and M.2 boot device with two SSDs configured as a RAID 1 device.
Installation Kit: The lenovo_servers_thinksystem-sle11sp4-x86_64-2.1.iso installation kit is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. This installation kit must be downloaded and used to start the SLES installation. To obtain the installation kit go to: https://drivers.suse.com/lenovo/Lenovo-ThinkSystem/sle-11-sp4-x86_64/2.1/install-readme.html.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows Server 2016 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.4.exe), the virtio network drivers were used during testing.
