Product Description
IBM® System x3100 M3 is a 5U ATX pedestal server targeted for small-to-medium enterprise applications. It complies with FCC Class A, RoHS (server requirements), and China RoHS, as well as industry smokeless requirements. The x3100 M3 is a follow-on to the x3100 M2 as an entry server of IBM xSeries. The x3100 M3 is a self-contained, high performance, and scalable in cost, configuration, performance, for pedestal server, using ECC or non-ECC DDR3 1GB, 2GB or 4GB UDIMMs, embedded SATA 3G/s controller and an embedded Gigabit Ethernet controller. In addition, it supports up to 4 X 3.5 inch fixed SATA DASD through on board Intel® Ibex Peak chipset.

Config Notes
- The driver "htc-hfcldd" was used during testing and is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver update disk (DUD) "dud-htc-hfcldd-4.12.20.4110.iso" and the driver package "htc-hfcldd-kmp-default-4.12.20.4110_3.12.49_11-1.sles12sp1.x86_64.rpm". To obtain DUD and the driver package, go to https://sso.hds.com and click on "Support Connect", then select "Product Downloads". DUD can be used to install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) to the SAN storage, and driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
- The driver "ixgbe" was used during testing and is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver was installed from the driver package "ixgbe-kmp-default-4.4.6_k3.12.49_11-h1.x86_64.rpm". To obtain the driver package, go to https://sso.hds.com and click on "Support Connect", then select "Product Downloads". Driver package can be installed after the SLES installation.
- Install: The SLES install was performed using a virtual DVD device.
