Oracle's Sun Blade™ X6270 M2 Server Module: Powered by the Intel® Xeon® Processor X5680, the Oracle Sun Blade X6270 M2 server module helps customers scale their compute resources without adding complexity. The Oracle Sun Blade X6270 server module leverages PCIe2 and SAS2 technologies to provide up to 282Gb/s of ultra fast I/O bandwidth. With its 18 DIMM slots and four drive bays this two socket blade server offers streamlined management, enhanced performance, and energy efficiency to run the most demanding workloads including Web, enterprise, database, grid and virtualization.

Config Notes

Hard Disk Configuration: RAID 0
SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to the SLES 12 x86_64 guest. One of the embedded Intel® Ethernet Controller I350-AM4 (Quad Port) adapters was used in this testing.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 drivers are available from http://download.novell.com (VMDP-WIN-2.1.exe).
Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration.
