Product Description
PRIMERGY BladeFrame BF400 S2 are extremely reliable, high-availability systems and are very suitable for mid-volume and high-end requirements in critical business IT projects. The BF400 S2 chassis has space for up to 24 Processing Blades (pBlades) as well as redundant Control (cBlades) and Switch Blades (sBlades). The system contains a built-in BladePlane which provides the physical connections for the I/O of the Processing Blades as well as the communication to the network, the storage systems and the pwer distribution. In conjunction with the cBlades and the sBlades the chassis replaces the Fiber Channel, Gigabit Ethernet Switches as well as the power connections of a normal server architecture. PRIMERGY BladeFrame systems combine the benefits of stateless servers with powerful virtualization and management software which virtualizes the processor, storage and network resources. Systems can thus be configured and the required resources allocated within only a few minutes. This architecture means that a pool of servers can be created instead of allocating dedicated applications to a particular system.
