Operating Systems:
SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server 11 for IBM Power™ Service Pack 1 for SUSE® SLES 11 |
Product Description
The IBM Power 780 server (9179-MHC) utilizes the latest POWER7 processor technology designed to deliver performance, scalability, reliability, and manageability for demanding commercial workloads. The innovative IBM Power 780 model MHC server is a symmetric multiprocessing (SMP), rack-mounted server. This modular-built system uses one to four drawer enclosures which are four EIA units tall and housed in a 19-inch rack. New to the model MHC server are two new, POWER7 processor drawers. Each of the new drawers contains a POWER7 processor card and an enhanced POWER7 I/O backplane. Each POWER7 processor card is comprised of either two single-chip module (SCM) POWER7 processors or, new to model MHC, four SCM POWER7 processors. Each designed with 64-bit architecture. The POWER7 SCM processor is available at 3.22 GHz.
