Product Description
The IBM 4694 Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal offers proven performance that retailers need to keep their stores running smoothly. It is available in two case widths models, narrow (307) and wide (347) width casings depending on the configuration options. It offers a wide array of integrated and distributed expansion options with peripheral and configuration flexibility.

- Power Management: System/Processor supports throttling.
- Power Management: Hibernation / Suspend to Disk / ACPI S4 is supported on this system.
- Power Management: System/Processor does not support dynamic CPU frequency scaling.
- Sound: Recording on an external microphone is not supported on this system.
- Power Management: System does not support standby.
- Maintenance update: SLED 11 SP2 maintenance kernel (3.0.34-0.7.9) is required to properly detect floppy drive medium. Kernel patch installed: kernel-default-base-3.0.34-0.7.9.i586.rpm and kernel-default-3.0.34-0.7.9.i586.rpm. The maintenance kernel rpms can be downloaded from http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=S5dXSxMK3jQ
- Floppy disks used on this system must be manually mounted. To do this, perform the following steps first: a) run "mknod /lib/udev/devices/fd0 b 2 0" b) add "/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto,users,rw 0 0" to /etc/fstab, c) run command "mkdir /media/floppy", d) reboot. Thereafter, whenever a floppy is inserted, run command "mount /dev/fd0" to mount the floppy drive.
