Config Notes
- Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Disk configuration: HDD JBOD and M.2 boot device with two SSDs configured as a RAID 0 device. The "Device model" selected for the SLES guest virtual network adapter during testing was e1000, instead of the default virtio.
- Kdump (SLE15): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=246M,high crashkernel=132M,low using YaST.
- VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows Server 2016 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.5.exe), the virtio network drivers were used during testing.
- SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to one of the SLES 15 guests. One of the X710-DA2 PCIe 10Gb SFP+ Ethernet adapters was used in this testing.
