Product Description
The PRIMERGY TX140 S2 is the ideal robust and
cost-efficient server for small and medium-sized
businesses (SMB) or branch offices. It offers
best Intel® Xeon® E3 performance and solid
expandability thanks to hot-plug storage drives.
The optionally redundant power supply and a
choice of different RAID controllers ensure high
availability and peace of mind. Thanks to its
compact housing and extremely low operating
noise the server is ideally suited for showrooms
or offices, for example under the desk. The
optional support of legacy PCI adapter cards
makes the PRIMERGY TX140 S2 optimally suited
for special solutions, such as telephone or
security systems. Furthermore, the comprehensive
Fujitsu ServerView® Suite provides support
for administrators during server installation,
deployment and administration. The PRIMERGY

Config Notes
- Install: System installed via network PXE UEFI boot; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Tested as a 2-node scalable partition with 8 Compute Books. Hard disk configuration: separate RAID 0. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=12G dom0_max_vcpus=8.
- Kdump: the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to "crashkernel=210M,high crashkernel=162M,low" using YaST.
- VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 R2 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.3.exe).
- SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to the SLES 12 FV guest. One of the Intel X540 ML2 Dual Port 10GbaseT adapters was used in this testing.
