Product Description
GEP3 (Generic Ericsson Processor 3) is an x86 based general processing board within Ericsson Blade System (EBS). It is the 3rd generation in the GEP family. GEP3-HD600 utilizes a 64-bit,6 core, Intel processor(XEON L5638) running at 2.00GHz, 24GB memory, 600GB HDD, 2 x 10 GbE and 2 x GbE in back and 3 x GbE (one used for debug) in front.

Config Notes

Install: System installed using PXE network install; the OS was installed using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Disk configuration: HDD two disk RAID 0 and M.2 boot device with two SSD configured as RAID 0. Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with and requires the following additional load parameters: dom0_mem:16G dom0_max_vcpus:16.
Kdump (SLE15): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=231M,high crashkernel=122M,low using YaST.
VM Driver Pack: All guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES drivers are included with the OS. The Windows Server 2016 drivers are available from http://download.suse.com (VMDP-WIN-2.5.exe).
SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to the SLES 15 FV guest. One of the internal X550-T2 10GBase-T adapters was used in this testing.
