Product Description
The new FUJITSU Server BS2000 SE series combines BS2000 Server Units with /390 and with x86 processors, x86-based Application Units for several hypervisors and operating systems, peripherals and network infrastructure within one server, managed centralized with the web based SE Manager. SE Servers with BS2000 SU300 Server Units (SU300) join proven BS2000 functionality with mission-critical Intel® Xeon® E7 v2 server processors and are well suited to operate both BS2000 applications and applications in Linux® or Microsoft Windows® economically. SU300 Server Units offer: - Parallel use of several BS2000, Linux and/or Windows guest systems on one server - A wide BS2000 performance range from 12 to around 2000 RPF - Full object compatibility for all existing BS2000 applications on the basis of x86 processor technology - Mainframe-class reliability due to selected redundant components and E2E BS2000 quality process: pre-installation ex works, extensive quality assurance, comprehensive service concept.

Config Notes

Kdump (SLE11SP4): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=512M-:256M using YaST.
Install: System installed using an external USB DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Disk configuration: HDD two disks configured as RAID 0 and M.2 boot device with two SSDs configured as a RAID 1 device.
Installation Kit: The lenovo_servers_thinksystem-sle11sp4-x86_64-2.1.iso installation kit is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. This installation kit must be downloaded and used to start the SLES installation.
