Product Description
Lenovo NeXtScale System™ is the next generation of dense computing. It is an open, flexible, and simple data center solution for users of technical computing, grid deployments, analytics workloads, and large-scale cloud and virtualization infrastructures. The Lenovo NeXtScale n1200 enclosure and new Lenovo ThinkSystem SD650 server are designed to optimize density and performance within typical data center infrastructure limits. The 6U NeXtScale n1200 enclosure fits in a standard 19-inch rack and up to 12 SD650 servers can be installed into the enclosure.

Config Notes
- Maintenance update: SLES 11 SP3 Xen maintenance update slessp3-xen-201310-8479 (bnc#836239) is required and was installed during certification testing.
- Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters "dom0_mem=8G dom0_max_vcpus=8".
- Install: System installed using an external USB DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and elilo system configuration.
- Hard disk configuration: JBOD
- System was scaled up to 4-socket by joining two x880 X6 with 4S scalability connector.
- 6) SUSE Driver Kit: The ibm_x6-sle11sp3-x86_64 driver kit is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. The driver kit was installed during the SLES install process as an initial bootable iso image. This driver must be downloaded and installed before the SLES install. To obtain the driver go to: http://drivers.suse.com/ibm/IBM-X6/sle11-sp3/install-readme.htm
- VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES 11 SP3 drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2012 drivers are available from http://download.novell.com (VMDP-WIN-2.1.exe).
