Config Notes
- SR-IOV: System was tested using SR-IOV where a virtual network adapter was given to a SLES 12 FV guest. One of the integrated Ethernet Connection X722 for 10GBASE-T adapters was used in this testing.
- Serial/USB/VGA port(s): provided through KVM connector console breakout cable which supplies one RS232 serial port, one VGA port and two USB ports. The system also has one internal USB port.
- Installation Kit: The lenovo_servers_thinksystem-sle12sp2-x86_64-1.0.iso installation kit is SUSE SolidDriver Program compliant. This installation kit must be downloaded and used to start the SLES installation. To obtain the installation kit go to: https://drivers.suse.com/lenovo/Lenovo-ThinkSystem/sle-12-sp2-x86_64/1.0/.
- Kdump (SLE12SP2): the crash kernel reserved memory parameters were increased from the default to crashkernel=152M,high crashkernel=112M,low using YaST.
- Install: System installed using an external USB DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration. Disk configuration: two HDD and two M.2 (boot) drives, each configured as separate RAID 1.
