Product Description
The PowerEdge M640 is supported on both Dell PowerEdge VRTX and PowerEdge M1000e Blade Chassis. The Dell Shared PERC 8 card is located between the storage array and the power distribution board on the VRTX planar. The Dell Shared PERC H730P slot routes SAS to the nearby planar miniSAS connectors, which are used to internally cable SAS from the PERC to the SAS expander cards in the storage array. Config Notes
- Kdump: Yast2 - Kernel kdump - kdump memory was increased from 128 to 256 MB for kdump to function.
- VM Driver Pack: All FV guests were tested with PV drivers installed. The SLES 11 SP3 drivers are included with the OS. The Windows 2008 drivers are available from http://download.novell.com (VMDP-WIN-2.1.exe)
- Install: System installed using the internal DVD drive; the OS was installed from DVD using the UEFI boot loader and system configuration.
- System was configured as 1-node scalable partition.
- Xen Hypervisor: the hypervisor was booted with following additional parameters: dom0_mem=5G dom0_max_vcpus=4.
