What's happening?
We're adding Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) via email to make your SUSE account more secure. This means you'll receive a verification email to confirm your identity when logging in. You will receive the verification on the same email address that you use to log in.
How will the MFA work?
You will log into your account as usual by providing your username and password. Then, a prompt will appear indicating that verification is required. Once you click on the button to prove your identity, you will receive an email with a magic link and a code that will be used for verification.
Will I be able to enable a different Multi Factor Authentication method?
Unfortunately, it would not be possible to enable a different (MFA) method.
When is this happening?
Customers will notice the new login process on 1 May 2025. Until then, you should log on as usual.
Why is this change happening?
We're adding this extra security step to protect your account and personal data. It helps stop unauthorized access by requiring more than just your password to log in. Logging in will take only a few more seconds than it does at the moment, but the process will be much more secure.
What's the benefit for SUSE?
For SUSE, enabling MFA enhances security, ensuring only authorized users can access services, and reducing the risk of data breaches.
What's the benefit for customers?
Customers benefit from improved security for their accounts, giving them peace of mind knowing their personal and account information is better protected.
What if I need more information?
For more detailed assistance, we recommend that you open a support ticket through: the help page, (on the right pane there is an option to request help). We're happy to assist you with any questions!
What if I use a shared email login?
If you share an email login with others, the email verification will go to the shared inbox, so we recommend using individual, unique email addresses for each user. If it is not possible to use individual accounts, please make sure you have access to the shared email account.
Will I be able to create additional accounts?
Yes, you can create additional accounts, if needed.
I no longer have access to my login mailbox. What should I do?
If you no longer have access to the mailbox associated with your account, you can create a new account. For SUSE Customer Center subscriptions, please reach out to your Organisation administrator to add you to the organisation. For any other inquiries, kindly contact your account or partner team for further support.
