Bull, the European leader in the extreme computing market, today announced the General Availability of bullx supercomputer suite 4 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2.
bullx scs 4 is a comprehensive, modular, integrated and open suite of products dedicated to managing supercomputers, HPC applications running on those supercomputers as well as their data. It leverages on years of experience in deploying HPC solutions. Since its launch beginning of 2011, bullx supercomputer suite has been successfully deployed for many customers, worldwide, on HPC clusters ranging from few hundreds to several thousands nodes. GENCI's Curie supercomputer in France, the Helios supercomputer supporting the Fusion for Energy program in Japan, as well as the KNMI (Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute) system rely on bullx supercomputer suite for their research and production.
Customers who already rely on Bull solutions for their Extreme Computing will now have the flexibility to choose from an even greater variety of Linux distributions. With SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2, they will have access to state of the art Linux kernel version 3.0, support of btrfs (B-Tree file system), and integration of Linux Containers (LXC) that bring significant performance increase to HPC applications. Moreover, prospects who have made the choice of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for their HPC can now benefit from the extreme scalability and performance of bullx supercomputer suite. The advanced features of bullx scs such as supercomputer power and health management, topology aware batch management, scalable, reliable and resilient MPI library, comprehensive development tools are all now available on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.
