How To Pass CTRL-ALT-DELETE Into A Xen Virtual Machine

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

The default release key combination for exiting a DomU window is CTRL-ALT. This can cause a problem if you need to pass CTRL-ALT-DELETE. The problem we run into is that as soon as the CTRL-ALT key combination is pressed we are no longer in the DomU interface.

Resolution

The resolution to this issue is that Xen has the capability for a sticky key once it has been pressed three times.

To pass the CTRL-ALT-DELETE to the DomU, make the CTRL key sticky by pressing it three times, and then press ALT-DELETE simultaneously (not while pressing CTRL):
