Ghost luns" shown with Hitachi Lightning (SAN)

Environment
Situation
After connecting the cable while the Fibre Channel Controller module is loaded and/or during boot there are many (max. 16384) "Ghost Devices" per Controller that are not needed or used. These devices can be found in /proc/scsi/sg/devices and /proc/scsi/sg/device_strs Notification for discovery can be found in /var/log/messages
Resolution
The Flag bit "0x1000000" (PQ3) works different on SLES10 compared to SLES9 and SLES8.
With the use of the kernel-cmdline"scsi_mod.dev_flags=HITACHI:OPEN-E:0x20240"the PQ3 bit for the OPEN-E Devices will be reset und the "ghost luns" are not shown.
So you edit in
/boot/grub/menu.lst
the entry for the kernel commandline and append
scsi_mod.dev_flags=HITACHI:OPEN-E:0x20240
then you reboot and the "ghost luns" are gone
