YaST2 can not enable initrd features like mkinitrd does

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10

Situation

You want to create a new initrd.
The YaST2 sysconfig editor allows to add kernelmodules to the initrd, but there's no possibility to enable features like
lvm, lvm2, evms, raid, iscsi, mpath, etc. even they may be necessary to access the rootfilesystem.
mkinitrd on the other hand offers this with the "-f" switch.

Resolution

There is no problem at all thus no action is required.
Features necessary to access the rootfilesystem will be picked up by mkinitrd automatically and added to the initrd without user interference.
So it is no use to have the ability to enable them manually for the initrd using YaST2.

For all other filesystems the runlevel scripts take care if such a feature is necessary to mount them.

Additional Information

The full featured mkinitrd script gives the flexibility to e.g. build initrds for e.g. different kernelversions than the installed one, or even for different machines.
