Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 12 Service Pack 1 (SLED 12 SP1)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 12 Service Pack 2 (SLED 12 SP2)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 (SLES 12 SP1)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2)

Situation

When attempting to install a GNOME3 extension to a SLE system, the extensions.gnome.org page shows the following error:
ReferenceError: chrome is not defined
Screenshot below:

Resolution

Remove the GNOME Shell Integration extension from the Extension tab of the Firefox Add-Ons manager.

Cause

The GNOME Shell Integration functionality is provided by the GNOME Shell Integration plugin as part of the libgnome-shell-browser-plugin package shipped with the SLE software.  This is different from the GNOME Shell Integration extension.

By default, the Activation setting for this plugin is set to "Ask to Activate."

Since the plugin is not yet activated by the time the web page is loaded, the following dialog box is loaded at the top of the extensions page:

When you click the "Click here to install browser extension" link, it will install the extension from gnome.org which causes this problem.
