This document (000019676) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
Situation
CCP initialization failed
PSP Initialization failed
The CCP message indicates that the CCP device is not available.
The PSP message indicates its dependency on the SEV feature.
Resolution
The messages can be fixed by updating to SLES 15 SP2.
Cause
The kernel reported that PSP initialization failed if SEV is disabled or not supported.
Both messages were changed in the upstream kernel (5.5.7) and the SLES15 SP2 kernel.
The patch for the first report changed the message to reflect status instead of failure and the second patch updated the driver messages to remove some confusion.
