failure to add lsb resource script to cluster (OPENAIS)

This document (7009396) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 1

Situation

After setting up the cluster it is not possible to add a lsb script as cluster resource. Attempts on the commandline interface fail similar to

nil:/home/blubber # crm configure
crm(live)configure# primitive test6 lsb:postfix
ERROR: lsb:postfix: could not parse meta-data:
ERROR: lsb:postfix: no such resource agent
crm(live)configure#

it is on the other hand possible to add cluster resources that use ocf scripts. In the log files there are then entries similar to

Sep 20 16:10:30 nil attrd: [15522]: info: crm_log_init_worker: Not switching to corefile directory for blubber

Resolution

The reason for this is that the Administrator working on this cluster logged in with a different account. In the above example it was the user blubber. Afterwards the user blubber became root via

su

which is wrong. It should be

su -

and then the issue is resolved. For further information check man su
