On SLE12 the linuxrc parameter 'brokenmodules' is not working as expected.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 (SLES 12 SP1)

Situation

On SLE12 servers blacklisting of modules is not working as expected as known from SLES11 with the brokenmodules parameter.

Resolution

Use modprobe.blacklist=xxx instead of brokenmodules.

Alternatively, provide a DUD with an updated driver using  dud=1 (interactively)  or with an URL pointing to a DUD dud=<URL>
