This document (7022311) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 1 (SLES 12 SP1)
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 2 (SLES 12 SP2)
Situation
Resolution
# rm /etc/SUSEConnect
# rm -f /etc/zypp/{repos,services,credentials}.d/*
# rm -f /usr/lib/zypp/plugins/services/*
# sed -i '/^# Added by SMT reg/,+1d' /etc/hosts
# /usr/sbin/registercloudguest --force-new
Additional Information
- SLE11 systems use suse_register for registration
- SLE12 systems use SUSEConnect (with the exception of the SLE12/OES2018 product, which uses suse_register to connect to Micro Focus repositories).
SLE instances created in a SUSE OpenStack Cloud environment should use the cloud's local SMT to handle registration.
