ocfs2 online resize (OCFS2)
This document (7002538) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2
Situation
Caveat! On SLES10 SP2 an online resize is only possible if ocfs2 uses the kernel cluster stack, o2cb. Meaning
O2CB_HEARTBEAT_MODE="kernel" is set in /etc/sysconfig/o2cb.
On SLE11 any cluster stack can be used for online resizing of ocfs2.
Resolution
tunefs.ocfs2 -S device [blocks-count]
from the man page
-S, --volume-size
Grow the size of the OCFS2 file system. If blocks-count is not
specified, tunefs.ocfs2 extends the volume to the current size
of the device.
