mgradm migrate podman <oldserver.fqdn> fails: "restorecon" not found in path

This document (000021784) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Multi Linux Manager 5.0

SUSE Multi Linux Manager 4.3

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP6

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP4

Situation

Migrate a Multi Linux Manager 4.3 to Multi Linux Manager 5.0 on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 SP6 fails with the following error:

mgradm migrate podman <oldserver.fqdn> shows error:

Error: cannot run migration script: cannot restore /var/lib/containers/storage/volumes/var-cobbler/_data SELinux permissions: exec: "restorecon": executable file not found in $PATH

Resolution

The target server is missing the "policycoreutils" package:

zypper in policycoreutils

Then run the migration command again to successfully complete the migration.

mgradm migrate podman <oldserver.fqdn>

Cause

The command is failing because SELinux is not present in SLE. Thus installing the policycoreutils package is required on the target system to resolve the problem.
