Error: Maximum number of XDMCP requests exceeded

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
 

Situation

Connecting to SLES 10 server running Gnome and gdm (GNOME Display Manager) using Hummingbirds Exceed-On-Demand.
When trying to connect more than two sessions, get an error:

ERROR: Maximum number of XDMCP requests exceeded.

Resolution

From a terminal as the root user, run:

'/opt/gnome/sbin/gdmsetup'

A GUI tool will be displayed. Choose the XDMCP tab at the top.
Increase the 'Displays per host' setting to how many sessions you would like to be able to login with simultaneously. (Default is 2)
Click close.

The changes will take effect after gdm restarts. In the terminal, run:

'/opt/gnome/sbin/gdm-safe-restart'
