Cannot install Virtual Machine Driver Pack on a Windows Server Core installation

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3
Virtual Machine Driver Pack
Windows 2008 R2 Virtual Machine

Situation

Version 1.6_03 (and earlier) of the Virtual Machine Driver Pack will not install on a Windows Server Core installation.

Error:  "Setup was unable to install the Xenbus driver and has terminated the installation."

Resolution

An updated DPInst.exe is required.  Please contact SUSE Technical Support to obtain the update until the next update to the Virtual Machine Driver Pack is released.
