This document (7006862) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 3

Situation

xterm -cm -cr <any_color> crashes on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 with the following error message:

# xterm -cm -cr red
xterm: warning, error event received:
X Error of failed request:  BadGC (invalid GC parameter)
Major opcode of failed request:  56 (X_ChangeGC)
Resource id in failed request:  0xac1adb60
Serial number of failed request:  166
Current serial number in output stream:  182

'xterm -cm' without specifying the color crashes also with the same error message when in the .Xdefaults the cursor color is set to anything other than black (#000000), e.g. "XTerm*cursorColor: green".

Resolution

The SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 Service Pack 4 includes the fix to resolve the problem.
