Losing a single device with multipath-tools 0.4.9-112.1 leads to loss of complete LUN map

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 4 (SLES 11 SP4)
multipath-tools-0.4.9-112.1

Situation

Losing a single multipathed device leads to the loss of the complete LUN mapping. In /var/log/messages the issue will be reported like (sdi is the device which was removed to reproduce the issue):
2016-05-19T12:44:26-05:00 myhost1 multipathd: sdi: remove path (uevent) 
2016-05-19T12:44:26-05:00 myhost1 multipathd: 360000970000197200498533031324543: map flushed 
2016-05-19T12:44:26-05:00 myhost1 multipathd: 360000970000197200498533031324543: stop event checker thread (140149607851776) 
2016-05-19T12:44:26-05:00 myhost1 multipathd: 360000970000197200498533031324543: removed map after removing all paths 

Resolution

The issue is currently being investigated. If multipath-tools-0.4.9-112.1 has been deployed already please downgrade to the previous version until a fix has been made available.
