Software RAID installation on NVMe drives not supported on IBM POWER

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Service Pack 3 (SLES 12 SP3)

Situation

Software RAID installation of SLES 12 SP3 on NVMe drives may appear to succeed on IBM POWER, but the system will not boot successfully afterwards.

Resolution

Use non-software RAID with NVMe for installation of SLES 12 SP3 on IBM POWER servers. Later releases of SLES will address this.
