Adding Additional True Type Fonts

Environment
Situation
Resolution
- Login as the root user. In the GNOME "Computer" menu open the Control Center. For KDE open the Main menu and look for Tools-->Desktop-->Control Center.
- Click on "Look and Feel".
- Click on "Fonts".
- In the "Font Preferences" screen, click on "Details".
- Click on "Go to Fonts Folder". This will open a folder showing all of the installed fonts on the system.
- Drag your own .TTF font file into the folder.
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/truetype
Then to have the new fonts recognized by the system run the following command as the root user:
SuSEconfig –module fonts
