named startup fails to process ACLs

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 Service Pack 4

Situation

After updating to SLES 10 SP4 named stops to start with:

dns2:/etc/named.d>sudo /etc/init.d/named restart
/etc/named.d/named.conf.domain:34: undefined ACL 'domain_a_acl'
Warning: /etc/named.d/named.conf.domain is no valid named configuration part. Skipping.
Installing new /etc/named.conf.include

Disabling the ACLs enables named to start.

Resolution

A bind maintenance update released November/2011 corrects the problem.

Additional Information

This issue is caused by syntax checks on the named configuration files which read settings from different include files. As those are not processed by the syntax check named fails to start.
