New Ceph nodes not shown in Calamari web interface

This document (7017300) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.

Environment

SUSE Enterprise Storage 2.1

Situation

After adding new nodes to a Ceph cluster using ceph-deploy the nodes are not shown / visible via the Calamari management web interface.

Resolution

After adding nodes to a Ceph cluster the following additional steps need to be taken from the Ceph Admin / Calamari Master node:

  1. ceph-deploy calamari --master <master_node> connect <new_ceph_node>
  2. salt-key -A (This will list all keys for nodes not activated yet, verify the nodes listed and press "Y" to accept)

The above commands will install the required RPM's on the new node, activate the relevant services and accept the key for the newly added node. The Calamari web interface should now properly list all newly added nodes.
