Changing Monitor Resolution in SLES12

Environment

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12


Situation

Installing SLES12, SLES12sp1 and SLES12sp2 will default to a 800x600 resolution for the monitor on some video cards and monitors. 

Resolution

Using YAST, go to Boot Loader\ Kernel Parameters\ VGA Mode\  Use pull down menu to select correct resolution. 

You can also change the resolution of the boot screen by going to Console Resolution and using the pull down menu to select the correct resolution.

Select OK then logout or reboot to update resolution.
