Long supportconfig run times on systems with DAX memory
This document (000020270) is provided subject to the disclaimer at the end of this document.
Environment
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP 15
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP 12
System having DAX Memory (e.g Intel Optane memory)
Situation
Resolution
supportconfig -o CRASH,LDAP,OFILES,SSSD
As an alternative, you can edit the /etc/supportconfig.conf file to make these options persistent. The /etc/supportconfig.conf file does not exist by default and must be created. Add the following to the configuration file, and run supportconfig as usual:
OPTION_CRASH=0 OPTION_LDAP=0 OPTION_OFILES=0 OPTION_SSSD=0
Running supportconfig with these options is a reasonable workaround. If these files are necessary to your case or this doesn't resolve the long run times, please do not hesitate to open a support request with SUSE Support.
